2016 – A New Hope.
‘Do not dwell on the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment’ – Buddha.
Wise words indeed as we enter the start of a new year, we all tend to have our resolutions in place and are ready and optimistic for what the forth coming days will bring. We almost have a sence than on New Year’s Day a miracle will happen and everything will change for the best. But why wait for the New Year? Every day the sun rises and with it brings new opportunity, it doesn’t matter whether it’s January 1st or August 16th, the new beginnings are there for us.
The Spiritualist National Union has its 7 principles and Number 5 is personal responsibility. Responsibility for our lives the good things that happen and also the bad, sadly no matter how much we love somebody especially those who are going through difficult times we cannot take responsibility for them or their actions we can only offer support and love.
The Spirit World in their wisdom tell us that we are on this earthly world for soul growth and that the way to expand our consciousness is through living life, both the good times and the bad, making the most of every day and enjoying life and the challenges that it presents us. Rather than making New Year resolutions that we probably won’t keep lets live life as Buddha suggests ‘in the moment’ making the most of every day so that as it comes to a close we can look back and say ‘it was a good day, I did my best’. Remember the bank account of time, we can only take from that bank account, we cannot put back in, we cannot relive a day or even a moment, when it’s gone, it’s gone. So enjoy the moment for all it brings and live life to the full, our loved ones in the Spirit World would ask nothing less.
Happy New to you all, I hope it is a year filled with fun, good health and laughter.
