Spirit Art with Sandy Ingham.

Well what a wonderful 3 days we had with Sandy Ingham in Plymouth, Paignton and Exeter. As usual neither Sandy or Leo didn't let us down with their magnificent pictures of your loved ones. Is there really any better proof of survival than your loved ones appearing before your eyes while the medium brings through information.
I
am always amazed by the accuracy of her spirit art but also that the pictures often replicate photographs of your loved ones. Leo will also give information to the person receiving the messages about their loved ones. At one point I said to the person in question that his mother had 7 brothers and sisters, at that point Leo then wrote down all 7 first initials!

In all the years I have been involved in Spiritualism something will come along and just make you think wow!

We will be releasing more dates for later in the year so keep looking at

Blending With The Power... Again

I feel that I'm cheating a little with this blog as I'm revisiting a blog from a couple of years ago as I really believe the energy of the Spirit World is pure love and will not only help us to develop a bond with our loved ones but  can also help us with healing and overcoming obstacles. If you wish you purchase a copy of my CD from the shop page that's fine but if not then at the bottom of this blog is the Meditation, put on a relaxing piece of music and relax in the energy of the Spirit World. I would just like to take this opportunity of thanking you all for your ongoing love and support, without you I couldn't do what I love and its you that make this journey worthwhile.

Keep smiling and be happy.

Best wishes

 Blending With The Power

'Positive thinking creates a doorway through which Angels love to walk'

So what is the power? How does it help? And where does it come from? The power is the beautiful energy that comes directly from the God force it’s self. God to me is a beautiful universal energy that flows through everything, man, animal, plant and mineral life, it does not discriminate between colour, creed or sexuality, it is pure unconditional love and it’s what links us on the earth to the spirit realms.
The power or energy allows those from the world of spirit to visit and commune with us, it’s how mediumship works, by allowing us to raise our energy levels to a point where the spirit can meet us in the middle. The power is much more than an aid to communication, it will deepen ones healing capabilities or can just help with our own intuition. This beautiful energy is there to help and inspire us 24/7. There is an abundant supply it never goes away. It is very subtle, the best way I can describe it is imagine a butterfly floating by on a hot summers day, it is that light! It has to be because the spirit has no weight, size or shape, it is energy in its purest form.
Mediumship is very similar and to develop all you have to do is to blend with the power whenever possible. Like the energy mediumistic development is a very slow subtle process, you are always expanding, always developing but you will never be the finished product because we will continue to develop in this life and the next.

Exercise:
Sit in a quiet place and put some relaxing music on, close your eyes and try to imagine the stresses and strains of the day slowly melting away. Imagine a white light coming from the universe and entering the top of your head, slowly moving through your body and encompassing your mind your heart and soul (don’t worry if your heart briefly starts to beats quicker its normal), the energy slowly flows down to your knees, your feet and into the ground, as it flows it removes any negative energy leaving just positive energy. Now with every breath imagine the energy expanding,  getting deeper and bigger until eventually it not only comes out of your body and fills the room but it encompasses the whole world and just sit in that energy for 10 minutes or so.
Try that exercise over a period of time and see the difference, yes it is a slow process, yes you need dedication and discipline, yes it can be really boring!! But the beauty and the power of the spirit is unimaginable only limited by us and our human mind so it is worth it.

Best wishes
Ricky.

2019 A New Year Brings New Hope

1/1/2019

2019, A New Hope

So that’s the end of 2018, a year that I know most people will be glad to see the back off but let’s not dwell on last year after all we cannot change what has gone before but we can change what is coming.
A new year always brings new hope of bright new beginnings, the problem I find is that by the middle of January the hope has gone and normal life kicks back in! If only we can bottle that hope and encouragement and keep it so that every time we feel a little down we can take a sip!
Towards the end of 2018 I felt that I needed to change things in my life, I want to feel alive, happy, well and more importantly confident. I changed my diet to a plant based whole foods, no junk, wheat or sugar.  I had been vegan for a while but my diet was crisps, Oreos and anything quick and easy! Within 10 days although I was still feeling under the weather I noticed that my skin and hair was looking a little better! This lifted my spirits and encouraged me to start chipping away at some of the jobs I had been putting off for months, that in turn made me feel a little better. Change takes time but by taking small steps forward day by day for you, then change can happen and 2019 can be a very good year. A positive mind overcomes challenges and a positive body helps you to have the confidence to overcome them.
It’s time that we all started to value ourselves, believe in ourselves and trust ourselves, life is too short to not enjoyed it so let’s live each day like it’s our last. We are all special miracles and we have been given a special miracle of life so 2019 will be our year J.
I wish you all a fantastic 2019 may all your dreams come true.
Love

Soul Searching

To celebrate the life of my beautiful sister Caron who would have been 44 today (23rd April) but passed to the higher life in 1996 just before her 21st birthday here is her poem Soul Searching.

Soul Searching

As I watch the stars the shine,
I wonder what is truly mine,
For when it is my time to go,
I'll only have myself to show,
No fancy items will impress,
Just the soul that I possess,
My inner self is all they see,
What has transformed, what's made me, me,
And as I wander through the days,
Some so clear and some in haze,
I realise to feel at ease,
You have to find a way please,
Your mind, your body and your soul,
You need contentment and a goal,
So you can pass yourself and say,
I feel so good I achieved this day.

Best wishes

Philosophy The Foundation Of Mediumship

15/3/2018

As a boy growing up in Devon in the early 1970’s I never realised how lucky I was coming from a Spiritualist back ground, my Grandfather Arthur Roberts who was the most gentle and thoughtful person that I have ever been lucky enough to know was a Trance Healer and at a very young age of maybe 4 or 5 I can remember him going into trance and giving my grandmother healing, his Indian guide Whitefeather would come through and talk of love and healing.  My Grandparents would sit in circle with my God parents every other Thursday alternating between their houses in Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren, I never knew at the time but my God Father Ken Day was a Trance Medium, thirty odd years later Ken was to appear to me as a transfigured face and gave me undeniable proof of his survival but that’s another story! When I was staying at my Grandparents house I would often see my Grandfather sat in the kitchen listening to classical music and reading the bible and other such books. I once asked him what he was doing and he simply replied ‘feeding the soul’ Of course I had no idea what he was talking about!
Sadly my Grandfather took his own life in 1987 but the mantle was then passed on to my mother Judy Greenwood. Mum was already a Spiritualist and had great knowledge but it was different to my Grandfathers, I remember her mentioning Doris Stokes many times. My Parents then took over the running of Newton Abbot Spiritualist Church where my Step Father Bob became an SNU trained Healer and my mother would work the platform. Mum’s passion was philosophy, she believed that the church was open to help those that needed and that the mediums of tomorrow should learn about the Philosophy. My Step Father at the time read all of the Silver Birch books. By this time I was a rebellious  young man and wanted nothing to do with my weird families beliefs! My mother though at the time ran a Philosophy circle and it always seemed to be full. My parents gave up the running of the church in 1996 after my sister passed to spirit but their belief in the philosophy of Spiritualism is as strong today as it was then. I also find it truely amazing that three generations of Spiritualist can almost have different beliefs all united by knowing that life is eternal.
I came back into the movement in 2004 when at the age of 36 life had taken a turn for the worst and I needed answers, by this time the church was being run by Phil & Shelia Scott who had a passion for sitting in the power, philosophy and physical mediumship. On my journey to the platform for both clairvoyance and trance I was lucky enough to sit with many of the world’s top physical mediums and was taught about the spirit world, the energy, why are we here? What is the point of living and more importantly what is the point of dyeing? Phil & Shelia themselves are wonderful physical mediums and over the years we have sat on many occasions and again I have been lucky enough to see many wonderful things and heard the philosophy of those in Spirit on many occasions.
This leads me to 2018 and what I see as a change in mediumship and style, there is no doubt that social media and other such vehicles have brought our movement into the main stream, it is now more exceptable where as even 20 years ago it was still frown upon. Every man and their dogs are now ‘mediums’ and in my opinion the standard of mediumship has dropped, the churches are no longer the only  place to see a medium as you can go to a centre, a pub or a community centre. Everyone is now teaching mediumship and the worrying thing is that people who are not mediums and have no knowledge of where our great movement comes from are teaching mediumship, I know of someone teaching Trance workshops that have never sat in trance! I was recently in a Spiritualist Church taking a Sunday service and my reading came from the Maurice Barbanell book ‘This is Spiritualism’ afterwards I was asked by a young medium who was Maurice Barbanell and why should he read Silverbirch! My reply was would you ever take your car to someone who wasn’t a mechanic? Of course not he replied, so my next question was why should someone come to you if you know nothing about Spiritualism?
It is my firm belief that sitting in the power and learning not only about the philosophy of spiritualism but also the philosophy of life from as many different races, religions and points of view as possible will deepened our own mediumship and therefore improve the experience for the person receiving the message. Whether we like it or not mediumship is all about the sitter, the person receiving the message as without them there would be no need for a medium or a spirit connection and therefore it is our responsibility to continue our own learning and development to enable us to help where we are needed. Mediumship is about bringing comfort to the sitter to bring hope that their loved one are still alive and that they will see them again and to help them on their pathway to healing, we should never forget that. Our seven principles brought through the trance mediumship of Emma Hardinge Britten teaches us about personal responsibility, so wherever or whoever has started to teach us it our responsibility to learn about the mechanics of mediumship to be able to help those that need it.
Last year I was lucky enough to sit at a lunch table with Gordon Smith and Billy Cook, it was clear how much they knew about Spiritualism as they discussed in depth about Helen Duncan and The Fox Sisters and how they still sit in the power every day where possible, of course three different people coming from three very different back grounds with have different views on the same subject but  that is what makes our movement fantastic as every conversation leads to an opportunity to grow and learn to deepen our own mediumship and to increase our own philosophy to be able to pass it on to the next generation of mediums. I have been lucky enough to see Gordon and Billy work on several occasions and have been even luckier to share the platform with Billy. Their mediumship is constantly excellent and as mediums we must aspire to be the best we can, not the best medium but the best medium that we can be. Theses two pioneers of modern day mediumship are clearly still learning, growing and improving.
The past is gone, we cannot change it, Emanuel Swedenborg, Lesley Flint, Gordon Higginson even Colin Fry & Glynn Edwards have had their time and of course have sadly passed but it is my opinion that we need to be learning from these greats, listening to their wisdom and philosophy not so that we can live in the past but so that we can as a movement move forward, learn our own philosophy, continue to build the foundation of our own mediumship to give the best evidence and message that we possibly can and then pass on that wonderful knowledge and truth to tomorrows mediums.

Best wishes

The Soul After Life.

The Soul After Life.

Life is eternal and the energy that is our spirit and soul lives on after the transition that we call death but where does the soul go after passing? I was recently doing a clairvoyance demonstration in Torquay and when there a gentleman who was new to this way of life and exploring his own belief approached me and ask ‘what is your god?’ My reply was that God is an energy that flows through all life whether that is Human, animal, plant or mineral, it is always expanding and does not discriminate between man or woman, gay or straight, Christian or Muslim. His reply was that he was that was a scientist and he knew full well that energy cannot die and so if the soul does exist then it must go somewhere as it will never die. He hadn’t made up his mind completely but he was leaning towards life after death.
As the evening came to finish I felt drawn to give the gentleman a message from his father, after the evening he said that he couldn’t take everything that I said but it had made him think. The following day I received a phone call to say that the information that he couldn’t take had come true in a photograph that he had seen while at his mothers. This happens quite often as the best information a medium can give is the information that needs to be looked into.
So we have established that the soul is pure energy but where does it go? My belief is that we are here on this earth for soul growth and to learn lessons so that we can develop to a point where we can join with that great energy called god. It is also my belief that we reincarnate several times so as to experience life from different perspectives, who knows in my next life I could be as a woman! When we pass over to the higher life we are meet by souls that we know and recognise on an energy level, this would be souls that we are comfortable with and could be loved ones, friends, guides and helpers. It is my belief that we all have guides and helpers and even if we don’t recognise them in this life then we would in the next. We are then taken to a place where we are looked after and nursed back to health, taught how to live, interact and reintegrate into our new surroundings. There is no time in the next life and they do not need sleep so the healing process is a lot quicker than it would be over here plus of course there is no NHS which means no waiting, the love and help that we need is there. What will hold the healing process back is our own beliefs and willingness to learn. When we pass over to the other side we initially keep our personalities so if we are stubborn in this life then we will be in the next one! At least for a while! In time though this will change and eventually as become accustomed to our new surroundings so will our appearance as we will revert back to a time where we were at our happiest. For the medium though they always appear as they were at the end of death as this is usually how they are recognised by the person receiving the message.
I am often asked how long will it take for a soul to come back through a medium and the answer is that there really is no time limit. I recently gave a message to a lady who’s mother had passed during the church service just an hour or so after they had seen each other but also I have given messages from loved ones who were coming through for the first time 20 years or more after they had passed to the higher life. The next life like this one is another learning area and so our loved ones have to learn how to communicate through a medium. There are other reasons that may affect communication, these could be that the soul and the medium do not connect on an energy level or even that the soul does not like or trust the medium that’s giving the information. The one thing I am certain of is that love is eternal and just because they have not communicated with you through a medium it does not mean that they love you any less or have forgotten about you. Often they are with us without even realising that they are there.
